Arrive Srinagar
On arrival in Srinagar, meet for assistance and transfer to the Srinagar hotel. Check in to the hotel. Later, take a one-hour ride on a Shikara – a Kashmiri gondola – to the watery vegetable markets and see the mountains mirrored in the lakes. You will get a view of some interesting places around the lake. In the evening, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Srinagar to Sonamarg (2 hrs drive / 98 km from Srinagar)
After having breakfast, check out from the houseboat and transfer to the hotel. Check in to the hotel, and after that, you will be driven for a full-day excursion trip to Sonamarg. Sonamarg is a place of enthralling beauty, lying in Sindh Valley, streamed with flowers, surrounded by mountains, and perched at an altitude of 2,690 meters above sea level. It is visited less frequently by tourists, with snowy mountains against a clear sky. It is a quiet alpine retreat surrounded by sycamore, silver birch, fir, and pine trees, and the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. It is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan lakes. (In Sonamarg, pony rides must be paid directly.) In the late evening, return to Srinagar for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Srinagar to Gulmarg (approx. 50 km / 1 hr 30 min drive)
After breakfast, proceed for a picturesque drive to Gulmarg. Gulmarg was discovered as a tourist destination by the British in the 19th century. Prior to that, Mughal emperors vacationed in the Gulmarg valley, which is about 3 km long and up to 1 km wide. It is exquisitely situated in a pine-surrounded basin of the Pir Panjal range at an altitude of 2,730 meters above sea level and is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Kashmir. It also has one of the world’s highest green golf courses with 18 holes, as well as a clubhouse, which is a historical building. It is one of the most beautiful summer resorts in the valley. It is also popular for its golf course during the summer season and as a ski resort during the winter season. On arrival, proceed for a picturesque ride on the world-famous Gondola chair car (pay direct ticket charges) and later visit the famous Shiv Mandir in Gulmarg. In the evening, return to the Srinagar hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Srinagar to Pahalgam (100 km / 2-3 hrs drive)
After breakfast, you will be driven from Srinagar to Pahalgam, visit the saffron fields of Pampore, and see the beautiful countryside, with lots of rice fields and the Awantipora ruins on the way. On arrival in Pahalgam, check in to the hotel, and after freshening up, enjoy Pahalgam and the surrounding beauty, or walk to Baisaran, which is about 2 km from Pahalgam. A small village set in pine and fir forests is pleasing and offers a good view. Check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. In Pahalgam, pony rides and jeeps to be hired for Chandanwari or Aru Valley, must be paid directly.
Pahalgam to Srinagar (100 km / 2-3 hrs) local sightseeing
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Srinagar, check in to the houseboat, and after freshening up, proceed to visit the world-famous Mughal Gardens, visiting Nishat Bagh (The Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love), Shankarachariya Shiv Temple, Pari Mahal (Fairies’ Abode), Chashme Shahi, Tulip Garden, and an ancient city tour of Srinagar. In the evening, return to the houseboat for dinner and an overnight stay at the houseboat.
