Royal Rajasthan & The Leopard Trails | 7 Days / 6 Nights

Our Royal Rajasthan Leopard Trails package takes you through Rajasthan’s wilder, more elemental landscapes. This 7-day journey starts in Jaipur’s Pink City and then moves into the remote leopard-country of Jawai. Furthermore, it continues to Jodhpur’s cliff-top fortress and the golden havelis of Jaisalmer. Four iconic destinations. One unforgettable Rajasthan adventure.

OVERVIEW & TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

Jaipur: Heritage Start

In Jaipur, you explore the grandest monuments of the Pink City. The circuit covers the famous Amber Fort, the Hawa Mahal facade, Jantar Mantar, and the City Palace. Each site showcases a different facet of royal Rajasthan. Moreover, the city’s bazaars offer a vibrant window into everyday Rajput life.

Jawai: Leopard Territory

Next, a 4×4 leopard and village safari takes you into the dramatic Jawai hills of the Aravallis. This is one of India’s most extraordinary leopard habitats outside a protected park. You come face to face with Rajasthan’s resident big cats in a truly wild setting. Additionally, the safari visits local Rabari herder villages for an authentic cultural encounter.

Jodhpur & Jaisalmer: Forts and Desert

In Jodhpur, you explore the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, the elegant Jaswant Thada, and the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace. Then, the journey continues to Jaisalmer, where the UNESCO-listed Jaisalmer Fort, ornate merchant havelis, and the tranquil Gadisar Lake await. Finally, a camel caravan crosses the Sam Sand Dunes. As a result, a night in a desert camp under the stars brings the journey to a spectacular close.

Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival in Jaipur

Arrive in Jaipur and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure — settle in, explore the neighbourhood, or take a gentle stroll through the Pink City’s bustling bazaars. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 2 — Jaipur Sightseeing: The Pink City

After breakfast, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Begin with the magnificent Amber Fort, a striking blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture perched above Maota Lake. Continue to the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the Jantar Mantar UNESCO-listed astronomical observatory, and the regal City Palace, still partly home to the Jaipur royal family. Afternoon at leisure to explore Jaipur’s famous markets for textiles, gems, and handicrafts. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 3 — Jaipur to Jawai

After breakfast, depart on a scenic drive through the rugged Aravalli countryside to Jawai (approx. 5 hours). This remote region of Rajasthan is home to one of the highest concentrations of leopards outside a national park. Check in to your lodge amid the stunning granite boulders and hills. Overnight in Jawai.

Day 4 — Jawai Leopard Safari & Drive to Jodhpur

Rise early for an exhilarating Jawai Leopard & Village Safari in a 4×4 open vehicle. Navigate the dramatic granite hillscapes of the Jawai basin, where leopards rest openly on the sun-warmed rocks. The safari also takes in the pastoral villages of the Rabari nomads — a rare and intimate glimpse into rural Rajasthan. After the safari, return to the lodge for breakfast, then drive to Jodhpur (approx. 2.5 hours). Evening at leisure. Overnight in Jodhpur.

Day 5 — Jodhpur Sightseeing & Drive to Jaisalmer

After breakfast, explore the Blue City on a sightseeing tour. Scale the formidable Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s largest forts, with spectacular panoramic views over the blue-washed city below. Visit the elegant Jaswant Thada marble cenotaph, then drive past the grandiose Umaid Bhawan Palace. After lunch, depart on the long drive to Jaisalmer, the Golden City (approx. 5–6 hours). Arrive and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 6 — Jaisalmer, Camel Safari & Desert Camp

After breakfast, explore the living medieval city of Jaisalmer. Walk through the golden sandstone lanes of Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the intricately carved Patwon Ki Haveli and stroll along the tranquil Gadisar Lake. In the late afternoon, drive to Sam Sand Dunes for a camel safari into the Thar Desert at sunset. Arrive at your desert camp for dinner, traditional Rajasthani folk music and dance performance under the stars. Overnight at desert camp.

Day 7 — Departure via Jodhpur

After breakfast at the desert camp, transfer back to Jaisalmer then drive to Jodhpur (approx. 5–6 hours) for your onward flight or train connection. Your leopard trails adventure concludes — with memories of wild landscapes, golden forts, and desert nights.
