Itinerary
This trip offers four distinct itinerary options. Please select the package that matches your preferred duration and route: Package 1 (6 Nights/7 Days - Beijing & Shanghai Classic), Package 2 (7 Nights/8 Days - Beijing, Xi'an & Shanghai Classic), Package 3 (12 Nights/13 Days - Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yangtze River Cruise & Shanghai), and Package 4 (5 Nights/6 Days - Guangzhou, Shenzhen & Guilin). On arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel by the local guide. After a good rest in a comfortable hotel, TVH recommended. Overnight at the hotel.
Depart from hotel in the morning to visit the biggest public square in the world, Tian'anmen Square, which conquers you with its grandeur at first sight. Then you are led to the Forbidden City, the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the biggest ancient architecture complex in the world. You walk in the museum to see with your eyes, touch with your hands and feel with your heart. Then you will visit a pearl factory. In the afternoon, you continue your trip to the Temple of Heaven, which stands the color of the sky. You feel the perfect harmony between architecture and nature, and the peaceful spirit of the Chinese people. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, drive 75km to visit the Jade Factory and the Great Wall at Juyong Pass, the symbol of China and the wisdom of the Chinese people. It is remarkable that the Chinese succeeded in building such great architecture with simple tools in ancient times. You will have a short stop and take photos in Beijing Olympic Park, where you can see the outside view of the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube). A tea house visit will follow the sightseeing, then shopping at a local market. Dinner and return to the hotel.
You will be transferred to the airport or train station for Shanghai. On arrival, you will be met and taken to the hotel for check-in, free time on your own, then dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, visit the Jade Buddha Temple, a Buddhist shrine located in the heart of Shanghai City, named for its two bejeweled white jade Buddha statues carved from a single piece of white jade. Then visit Yuyuan Garden, with its scenic courtyards decorated with rockery, pools and flora connected by corridors. Visit a Silk Factory, then shopping begins on Nanjing Road, China's 'First Commercial Road', running from the Bund westward past People's Square. Finally visit the Bund, the city's most famous waterfront landmark, with a view of the Oriental TV Tower (468m, outside view) across the Huangpu River. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Today you will visit Zhujiajiao, an ancient water town in a suburb of Shanghai with a history of more than 1,700 years, known as the 'Pearl Stream' and the best-preserved of the four ancient towns near Shanghai. Then visit the Shanghai Museum and the Old French Concession for a glimpse of the old colonial French quarter. Dinner at an Indian restaurant and drive back to Shanghai. Overnight at the hotel.

This morning, visit the Ancient City Walls, the most complete city wall surviving in China and one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and holy place for Buddhists. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to take a flight or bullet train to Shanghai. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel, free time on your own, then dinner and transfer back to the hotel for rest.

Depart from the hotel early in the morning to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest Buddha in the world, carved into a hillside about a two-hour drive from Chengdu, standing 71 meters (233 feet) tall and taking more than 90 years to carve - now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, one of the earliest reserves of its kind in China, spread across 540 hectares - a wonderful way to see pandas in a natural setting. Later, transfer back to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy the famous Face-Changing performance of Sichuan Opera. Dinner at an Indian restaurant.
Depart from the hotel and transfer to the train station for Chongqing. On arrival, you will be met by our guide for some shopping at a local market. After dinner, you will be transferred to the pier to embark on your Yangtze River cruise.
Depart from Chongqing in the morning aboard your Yangtze River cruise ship. The first shore excursion of the cruise takes place at either Fengdu, Shibaozhai or Wanzhou, depending on river conditions.
Today you pass through the Three Gorges - Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge - with an excursion through the Daning River Lesser Three Gorges along the way. Qutang Gorge, the shortest and most dramatic of the three, is followed by Wu Gorge, known for its forest-covered mountains and sheer cliffs, and finally Xiling Gorge, the longest and deepest, with dangerous rapids known as the Three Rapids of Xiling. In the evening, the ship passes through the locks of the Three Gorges Dam, a five-section process taking around 3.5 hours as the water level is lowered step by step - a spectacular illuminated night-time scene not to be missed.
Get off the cruise in the morning to visit the great Three Gorges Dam, the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken, providing hydroelectric power while taming the Yangtze's floodwaters. After a farewell lunch on board, disembark at Yichang for a flight to Shanghai, one of China's most fascinating and cosmopolitan cities, blending its 19th-century treaty-port history with modern sophistication. On arrival, transfer to your hotel to rest. Dinner at an Indian restaurant.

Today, take a city tour of Yuexiu Park, a scenic park known for providing immense and comprehensive cultural recreation - recently nominated as one of the ten best scenic parks, with its Zhen Hai Building and Five Ram Statues among the ten best scenic sites. Then visit Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, a commercial street in Liwan District composed of unique Tong Lau architecture and teahouses blending European and Chinese styles. In the evening, enjoy a Pearl River Cruise - the third longest river in China - sailing east to Guangzhou Bridge and south to Baihe Cave on a leisurely two-hour trip with views of the city's lights and colourfully decorated lanterns. Enjoy a photo stop at Guangzhou Tower. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Early morning, after breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Shenzhen. Visit Window of the World, a theme park designed for Chinese travellers new to world travel, where you can see replicas of all of mankind's major attractions. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel in Shenzhen, then transfer to the train station. On arrival in Guilin, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a half-day visit to Elephant Trunk Hill, a huge rock formation resembling an elephant dipping its trunk into the water at the confluence of the Yang and Li rivers. Then visit Reed Flute Cave, named after the reeds grown near its entrance once used to make flutes - a natural wonder of stalactites and stalagmites praised as the 'Huge Art Palace of Nature'. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Depart from your hotel in the morning for a half-day Li River Cruise, a true masterpiece of nature - crystal-clear water, picturesque mountains, peaceful farmland and fishermen with water buffalo compose the classic scenery of Guilin. After disembarking at the charming, Western-influenced town of Yangshuo, stroll along West Street, famous for its bilingual shops, restaurants and bars offering menus in multiple languages, and lined with vendors selling souvenirs. Return to Guilin in the late afternoon. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
