Our Jewel of Madhya Pradesh – Gwalior, Orchha & Khajuraho is a six-day heritage trail through the historic heart of Madhya Pradesh – Gwalior’s hilltop fort, Orchha’s Bundela palaces, the UNESCO-listed temples of Khajuraho, Panna and the marble gorges of Jabalpur.

OVERVIEW & TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

Gwalior

One of India’s most magnificent hill forts, with the Teli Ka Mandir, the Saas-Bahu temples and the opulent Jai Vilas Palace.

Orchha

A riverside town of Bundela splendour – the Raj Mahal and Jahangir Mahal, the Ram Raja Temple and the cenotaphs (chhatris) on the Betwa river.

Khajuraho, Panna & Jabalpur

The UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho, the Panna region and the marble rocks of Bhedaghat near Jabalpur.

ITINERARY

Day 1 – Arrive Gwalior

On arrival at Gwalior airport / railway station, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. Later, tour Gwalior Fort, the Teli Ka Mandir and the Saas-Bahu temples; time permitting, visit the Jai Vilas Palace. Overnight in Gwalior.

Day 2 – Gwalior to Orchha to Khajuraho (approx. 295 km)

After breakfast, drive towards Khajuraho via Orchha. Tour the Orchha Fort complex – the Raj Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, the Ram Raja Temple and the riverside cenotaphs – then continue to Khajuraho. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 3 – Khajuraho Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho – the Western and Eastern groups famed for their 9th-11th-century Chandela sculpture. Evening light-and-sound show (optional). Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 4 – Khajuraho to Panna

After breakfast, drive to the Panna region. Visit local sights such as the Pandav Falls and, subject to season, the option of a Panna Tiger Reserve safari (cost separate). Overnight in Panna / Khajuraho region.

Day 5 – Drive to Jabalpur

After breakfast, drive to Jabalpur. On arrival, visit the marble rocks of Bhedaghat and the Dhuandhar Falls on the Narmada river (boat ride optional). Overnight in Jabalpur.

Day 6 – Departure from Jabalpur

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Jabalpur railway station / airport for your onward journey. End of services.

What’s Included

The Jewel of Madhya Pradesh is a heritage lover’s circuit through forts, palaces and world-famous temples. It includes 5 nights of accommodation with MAP meals, private transfers and sightseeing, and 5% GST. Rates start from Rs.19,300 per person (twin sharing, Moderate 3-star, 10 pax) and Rs.26,800 for 2 pax; Deluxe and Premium categories are available.
